What

We’ll be returning this autumn with an exciting, new series of Weekly Art & Design Clubs for children in Years 1 - 6! Our weekly clubs give children the opportunity to really get to know a medium or discipline of art and design and develop their technical skills and confidence. 

During the autumn term, we’ll be exploring the creative possibilities of textiles. Think printing, tie-dye, stitching, felting, weaving and more! We’ll have fun playing with colour, texture and form and discover how artists and designers have used textiles to explore ideas and tell stories.

The clubs are taking place at St Matthew’s Primary School, Cambridge (map).

We welcome children from schools and home-education settings across Cambridge and beyond. We continue to offer a limited number of FREE places to children who receive Pupil Premium funding.

When

Every Monday (Y3 to Y6) and Tuesday (Y1 to Y3) from 8th September to 16th December 2025, excluding bank holidays, inset days and w/c 27th October due to half term:

• Fab Fibres (Year 3* - Year 6): Every Monday from 8th September – 15th December 2025, excluding 27th October half term holiday: 3.20 - 5.00pm. 14 sessions in total.

• Thread Heads (Year 1 - Year 3*): Every Tuesday from 9th September to 16th December 2025, excluding 28th October half term holiday and one additional Tuesday for parent/carer meetings (date TBC): 3.20 - 5.00pm. 13 sessions in total.

  *Please note both weekly club slots are open to children in Year 3.
